A few weeks ago, we posted pictures and news from our team’s recent outing to Mirinda Carfrae’s Elite Training Camp in picturesque Colorado. Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae is a three-time Ironman World Champion. As a dedicated triathlete, Mirinda Carfrae helps budding athletes reach their physical peaks by hosting training camps throughout the year.
Our CEO and RPM² inventor, Johnny Ross along with our Retail Manager, Keith Hill demonstrated the RPM² footbed system and power meter for the athletes in attendance. This opportunity was a great way for our company’s leaders to educate athletes on the importance of measuring bi-lateral equivalence to develop a better understanding the body’s movement. Not only is evaluating one’s biomechanical symmetry important, this data can help coaches and trainers adjust an athlete’s training to improve performance.
Coach Bobby McGee used RPM² to evaluate his coaching methods on improving bilateral symmetry. While RPM² was only used to gather data on pre- and post-evaluation performance, Coach McGee used the data collected by RPM² to measure an athlete’s improvement. Our technology picked up changes in weight distribution, step time, and the force exerted from each leg. The results pictured below, show that Bobby McGee is an excellent performance coach and that our devices are incredibly valuable in providing measurable data regarding athletic performance.
